My name is Hannah, and I’ve been living in Ipswich, Suffolk, for the past five years. Cats have always been my passion. Ever since we brought home our first family cat, dolls and toys were quickly forgotten—nothing could compete with the charm of a cat! As a child, I dreamed of running a luxury cat hotel where people could leave their pets, knowing they’d be cared for like royalty.
My love for creativity guided my studies in Photography, Graphic Design, and Video Production at the Secondary School of Arts and Design in Czechia. More recently, I graduated with a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design & Illustration from the University of Suffolk. While I’m still exploring where this creative path may take me, I’ve found the perfect balance by running my small cat business.
Since signing up for the Cat in a Flat platform out of curiosity, I’ve been lucky enough to meet so many wonderful cats and their owners, building a loyal client base along the way. That experience inspired me to launch my own website as I continue to grow professionally.
Alongside my experience, I’ve completed accredited courses in Cat Behaviour and Psychology, Pet First Aid, and Pet CPR to ensure I provide the best care possible.
In addition to cat sitting, I now offer cat photography and personalized illustrations, capturing the unique personality of each cat and turning those moments into beautiful, lasting memories.
The handsome boy you see here is Mr Trdlín. He had to stay in Czechia, but he’ll always hold a special place in my heart.
I was born with a rare genetic condition called Ellis-Van Creveld syndrome (EVC), which made my childhood far from easy. I faced many challenges and often felt different, but through it all, cats were always there. They brought me comfort in ways I can hardly explain, creating a deep connection that shaped who I am today.
While the world sometimes felt overwhelming, cats were my refuge. They accepted me for who I was, without question or judgment. Caring for them gave me purpose and fulfillment, and I could sense their gratitude in return. Through our mutual sensitivity, we understood each other perfectly—no words needed.
There’s a photo of me as a little girl surrounded by kittens, and it perfectly captures the essence of that time. Those moments were my escape, my safe place, and the foundation for my lifelong bond with cats.
Moving to the UK was a big change, especially as my parents relocated to Crete. I missed the presence of cats in my daily life more than anything. That’s when I discovered cat sitting, and in a way, I feel as though everything came full circle. The cats I care for now bring me the same joy and comfort I once found as a little girl surrounded by kittens.
Cats have always been my constant companions, and they continue to inspire and fulfill me every day. It’s why I care for them the way I do—with kindness, patience, and understanding.
